Teachers

Whether they teach privately or at a school, teachers face problems with low-quality instruments that are hard to tune, difficult to get nice sound from, or just plain ugly. At Sixth Generation Violin, we believe that teachers should be able to focus on imparting their musical knowledge to students; and students should enjoy learning! That’s why we have a commitment to provide the highest quality instruments, rentals, setups and service available.

OUR TEACHERS

We are excited to offer lessons from our comfortable lesson room! Whether you want to learn violin or viola, guitar, mandolin or cello, there is an excellent teacher for you on our list below. Private lessons are arranged directly with them and may be held in the Saratoga Sound Center lesson room or in another convenient location.

EDUCATING THE FUTURE

Teachers and luthiers have a symbiotic relationship. Teachers need luthiers to provide excellent service and quality instruments. However, luthiers need teachers too! Teachers play a huge role in advising their students and guiding them to instruments that can help them find their voice. We are happy to offer lesson space for private lessons, and special deals for teachers to thank you when you guide your students to find their perfect instrument or rental at Sixth Generation Strings.

Description:

A certified orchestra teacher with 25 years of experience in public school and private sector, my music career started in Russia where I received my music education and where I worked as an orchestra violinist and a teacher. Currently I am teaching orchestra in public school, providing instructions to students at all levels, beginners to advanced. In addition, I am working as one of the conductors at ESYO, Empire State Youth Orchestra. My responsibility is to conduct the Concertino String Orchestra. (More Information on ESYO.org)As a string teacher I believe that it is necessary for my students to build strong skills from the very start. No short cuts. I base my approach on very strong Russian music-teaching traditions. It includes work on mechanics and hand positions, routine exercises and scales, which will give rich results during more advanced years of study. Many of my students participated in ESYO at many levels, received high marks at NYSSMA, or have gone into professional music careers.
